Evenings for workers wasn't this picturesque. Shifts went 24 hours, and electric lights were a simple necessity. Nevertheless, viewing the yellow-gold shine cast against the granite black rock for the first time had to be magical. Also, considering the eventual hydroelectricity from the dam, it might have been like seeing the future before it actually arived...
